The Urth 40.5mm Infrared (R72) Lens Filter Plus+ is an infrared filter that filters out all visible light below 700mm. The main purpose of an IR R72 filter is to enable infrared photography. By blocking visible light, the filter only allows infrared light to reach the camera's sensor. This results in unique and surreal-looking images with distinct features such as white foliage, dark skies, and turns the most normal circumstances into dreamlike landscapes. In short, it helps you create artistic and imaginative images.

20-layer nano coating

The filter is made of high-quality optical glass and therefore provides optimal sharpness and contrast in your photos. The glass has a 20-layer nano coating, making it scratch, moisture and oil resistant. These layers also provide higher maximum light transmission and a more consistent transmission curve for more accurate light reduction.

The Urth ND2-32 (1-5 Stop) Variable ND Lens Filter (Plus+) has a thin frame. This means you won't suffer from vignetting that can occur when using the filter on wide-angle lenses.

The double thread allows you to stack multiple filters on top of each other, allowing you to achieve different creative effects. And the best part is that you can continue to use your trusty lens cap, even when the Urth filter is attached to your lens.

Adjustments to your camera settings

Infrared photography often requires longer exposure times due to the limited amount of infrared light available. The IR R72 filter blocks visible light and reduces the total light entering the camera, allowing longer exposures, especially in daylight. This may require you to adjust the camera settings. Due to the use of an IR blocking filter for the sensor, not all cameras are equally sensitive to infrared light, so results may vary depending on camera model and sensor capabilities.
