Question 1

Is the TTArtisan AF 27mm f2.8 compatible with full-frame cameras?

Accepted Answer

The lens is designed for APS-C sensors. It is not intended for full-frame coverage and may vignette heavily on larger sensors. It is best paired with APS-C Fujifilm X-mount bodies for correct image coverage and performance.

Question 2

Which Fujifilm X-mount cameras are compatible with the TTArtisan AF 27mm f2.8?

Accepted Answer

The lens is compatible with Fujifilm X-mount APS-C bodies including: X-A1, X-A10, X-A2, X-A3, X-A5, X-A7, X-M1, X-M5, X-H1, X-H2, X-H2S, X-T1, X-T10, X-T2, X-T20, X-T30, X-T30 II, X-T3, X-T4, X-T5, X-T50, X-T100, X-T200, X-Pro1, X-Pro2, X-Pro3, X-E1, X-E2, X-E2S, X-E3, X-E4, X-S10 and X-S20. As with any third-party autofocus lens, keeping firmware up to date helps maintain compatibility and performance.

Question 3

How do I update the firmware?

Accepted Answer

Firmware updates are performed via the USB-C port on the rear lens cap. You will need a USB-C cable that supports data transfer and a Windows computer, with Windows 10 recommended. The lens connects directly via the cap, keeping the update process separate from the camera body. This setup avoids the need for additional external docks or adapters.

Question 4

Can I control the aperture from the camera body?

Accepted Answer

The lens includes a clicked aperture ring. To adjust the aperture from the camera body, you must first set the ring to the “A” position. On some cameras, aperture control remains lens-based, so changes need to be made directly on the lens ring. This depends on the specific body and firmware version.

Question 5

Is the TTArtisan AF 27mm f2.8 suitable for video?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The STM motor provides smooth and relatively quiet autofocus transitions, which helps when recording clips. The lightweight design also pairs well with small gimbals or compact rigs. While it does not include optical stabilisation, it supports in-body stabilisation on compatible cameras, which improves handheld stability.
