Question 1

How compact is the Thypoch Ksana 35mm f2 ASPH?

Accepted Answer

The Ksana 35mm f2 ASPH weighs 198.6g and measures just 27mm from flange to front, making it a highly compact addition to a Leica M system. Its small dimensions preserve the balance and handling characteristics of M-mount cameras while maintaining a discreet profile for everyday photography. The compact design also makes it easy to carry throughout the day without significantly increasing your kit's size.

Question 2

Does the Thypoch Ksana 35mm f2 ASPH support filters?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Ksana 35mm f2 ASPH accepts standard 39mm screw-in filters, a widely used size among Leica M-mount lenses and accessories. This allows photographers to fit protective, circular polarising, and neutral density filters without additional adapters. The compact filter size also helps maintain the lens's small overall footprint while providing flexibility for different shooting styles and lighting conditions.

Question 3

What type of photography is the Thypoch Ksana 35mm f2 ASPH suited to?

Accepted Answer

The 35mm focal length provides a natural perspective that balances subject emphasis with environmental context. Its angle of view has long been associated with cinematic visual storytelling, allowing subjects to remain connected to their surroundings while preserving a strong sense of place and spatial depth. This makes the lens suitable for street photography, travel, documentary work, landscapes, environmental portraits, and everyday photography.

Question 4

How close can the Thypoch Ksana 35mm f2 ASPH focus?

Accepted Answer

The lens offers a minimum focusing distance of 0.5m measured from the sensor plane. This allows photographers to work closer to their subjects than traditional rangefinder focusing limits allow. The shorter focusing distance supports detail shots, environmental portraits, and close-range documentary photography while retaining the characteristic perspective of a 35mm lens.

Question 5

Is the Thypoch Ksana 35mm f2 ASPH available in other colours?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Ksana 35mm f2 ASPH is available in either black or silver finishes. The black version features a painted brass construction that gradually reveals the brass beneath with continued use, developing a unique patina over time. The silver version uses a chrome-plated brass finish, offering a brighter metallic appearance. The lens can also be purchased with or without the dedicated lens hood, though the hood is only available in black.
