Question 1

How does the Sigma EVF-21 connect to the Sigma FP2 Camera Body?

Accepted Answer

The EVF-21 is developed exclusively for the Sigma FP2 and connects through the camera's dedicated USB-C accessory connection. It provides an alternative to composing photographs on the rear LCD, with approximately 100% frame coverage and 0.88x magnification. Its detachable design lets you remove the viewfinder when you want to return to the camera's smaller configuration.

Question 2

How can the EVF-21 be used for low-angle photography?

Accepted Answer

The EVF-21 features a tilting mechanism that angles the eyepiece upwards by up to 90°. When shooting from waist height or with the camera low to the ground, you can tilt the viewfinder up and look down into it instead of bending directly behind the camera. You can also return the angle to horizontal for conventional eye-level composition. This lets you change your viewing position without moving the camera or changing the framing.

Question 3

Can the EVF-21 automatically switch between the viewfinder and rear camera screen?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The EVF-21 incorporates an eye sensor and an LCD/AUTO/EVF selector for controlling the viewing display. In automatic mode, bringing your eye towards the viewfinder activates its OLED display, while moving away returns viewing to the camera's rear LCD. You can also select the viewfinder or LCD manually using the available settings.

Question 4

How can I adjust the EVF-21 for my eyesight?

Accepted Answer

The EVF-21 offers dioptre adjustment from −4.0 to +2.0 dpt, so you can adjust the viewfinder image's apparent sharpness to suit your eyesight. The adjustment changes how the OLED image appears through the eyepiece without affecting the camera's focus settings or recorded photograph. Its approximately 19.5mm eye point also specifies the viewing distance from the rear of the eyepiece lens. Standard and large eyecups are supplied, giving you different amounts of coverage around the eye.
