Peak Design Form Rope Camera Strap Standard - Ocean

Q: Is the Peak Design Form Rope Strap available in other sizes?

Yes. Peak Design offers the Form Rope Strap in four fixed lengths to suit different preferences. The Neck strap measures 78.5cm and keeps smaller cameras high on the chest. The Short version is 103.5cm, sitting comfortably at mid-torso. The Standard measures 118.5cm for everyday use, while the Long extends to 133.5cm for those who prefer their camera to rest lower at the hip. All versions share the same 10mm diameter rope.

Q: How strong are the V5 Anchors?

Each V5 Anchor withstands over 90kg of force, and the complete strap system supports up to 82kg. This strength covers any mirrorless or DSLR setup, including larger professional bodies and lenses. Multi-layer thermoplastic cords provide the Anchors with long-term durability, and the slim V5 housing offers a cleaner profile while maintaining maximum security.

Q: Does the rope require maintenance?

Peak Design’s rope construction blends nylon and polyester in a custom basket weave for strength and comfort. It resists fraying and moisture and maintains flexibility over time. The material requires no regular maintenance, and users can wipe it clean if it becomes dirty.

Q: Is the Form Rope Strap compatible with other Peak Design straps?

Yes. The Form Rope Strap connects through the same Anchor Link system used across all Peak Design straps. Photographers can instantly switch between wrist, sling, and shoulder straps without needing tools or adapters.

Q: Is this material the same as climbing rope?

No. While it may look similar, the Rope Strap utilises a rope that Peak Design has explicitly developed for carrying cameras. Traditional climbing rope can feel abrasive and bulky when used as a strap, but this basket-woven nylon and polyester construction balances strength, padding, and controlled stretch.
