Question 1

What is the difference between the OM-1 and the OM-1 Mark II?

Accepted Answer

The new and improved OM SYSTEM OM-1 Mark II has made some adjustments following the success of the Mark 1 camera body. Firstly, one of the most exciting features is the addition of the Live Graduated ND filter and the improvement from an ND64 filter to an ND128 filter. The AI AF feature now recognises humans and has improved its ability to detect birds, animals, and vehicles. AI Subject Detection also recognises these things without needing face/eye priority focus.

Most importantly, the tech itself has had an upgrade. The Mark II now features market-leading 5-Axis sync IS performance with 8.5 stops compensation in body, a level up from the Mark 1’s 7.0 stops. With expanded buffer memory, the Mark II can capture 219 frames in JPEG or 213 frames in RAW at 120 fps, more than double the original 92 frames. Additionally, it supports 14-bit RAW in High-Res Mode, an upgrade from the previous 12-bit. The camera also includes Vertical Video in movie shooting mode, ideal for social media platforms and similar applications.

Question 2

How compact is the OM SYSTEM OM-1 Mark II Digital Camera Body?

Accepted Answer

The camera weighs just 511g and measures 134.8 × 91.6 × 72.7mm (W x H x D). These compact dimensions make the OM-1 Mark II an excellent option for professionals and enthusiasts needing a compact, high-spec camera that is easy to store and transport between shooting locations.

Question 3

OI.Share can update the firmware on the camera body and backup/restore camera settings. Additionally, the OM-1 Mark II supports UVC/UAC connections to PCs for webcam use, catering to modern connectivity needs and an intuitive experience.
