Nikon Z 400mm f4.5 VR S Lens

Q: Can I use filters with this lens?

Yes. The Nikon Z 400mm f4.5 VR S Lens has a 95mm thread for attaching additional polarizers and filters. It is worth noting that the existing Nikon Z 100-400mm f4.5-5.6 S Lens has a 77mm thread, so accessories will not be interchangeable between the two.

Q: What is the difference between the Z 400mm f4.5 and the 400mm f2.8 TC Lens?

The Nikon Z 400mm f4.5 VR S Lens has been designed as a more affordable alternative to the Nikon Z 400mm f2.8 TC VR S Lens. Although the aperture is 1.3 stops slower, the Z 400mm f4.5 VR S is 1.75kg lighter and 145mm smaller in length, making this lens an incredibly portable option for handheld users. Also, this lens does not include a built-in teleconverter like the 400mm f2.8 TC but is compatible with Z-series converters.

Q: Does this lens come with a tripod foot?

Yes. The Nikon Z 400mm f4.5 VR S Lens is supplied with a removable front grip that allows you to attach monopods and tripods or assist in handheld use. However, at only 1.2kg, this lens is incredibly easy to hold and transport without the need for additional support.

Q: Can I use this lens outdoors?

The Nikon Z 400mm f4.5 VR S Lens is weather-sealed for use in all kinds of inclement weather. It also features a rubber gasket designed to keep dust dirt and moisture out.
