Question 1

What kind of lighting is the Nanlite Rectangular Softbox 90x60 best suited for?

Accepted Answer

This softbox is highly versatile and suitable for many types of work including portraits, interviews, product photography, and more. Its 90x60cm size offers a balance of soft coverage and directional control, making it effective as a key or fill light. The silver interior adds punch to your lighting setup while maintaining soft, natural quality. The rectangular shape also helps simulate natural window light, adding realism in indoor scenes.

Question 2

Is this softbox compatible with non-Nanlite lights?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it uses a standard Bowens-style mount, which is widely used across many lighting brands. This means it’s compatible not only with Nanlite FS and Forza series models but also with most other lights that accept Bowens modifiers. This broad compatibility makes it a reliable investment for expanding or changing your lighting setup in the future. The included Bowens mount speed ring makes setup fast and secure.

Question 3

Can I modify the softness or direction of the light?

Accepted Answer

The included front diffusion panel helps create a soft, even output that's flattering for skin tones and reduces harsh shadows. The reflective silver interior maintains light intensity while enhancing directionality. While this softbox doesn’t support grid attachments, you can still achieve good light control by adjusting angle and placement. It’s ideal for those seeking simple, effective soft lighting with minimal setup.

Question 4

Is the Nanlite Rectangular Softbox 90x60 portable and easy to set up?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the softbox is designed with travel and quick assembly in mind. It includes a carry bag for protection and convenience during transport, and the four-rod construction allows for straightforward setup. Whether you're working in a studio or on location, this softbox is a practical and durable choice. It packs flat and sets up quickly, so you're always ready to shoot.
