Slower shutter speeds

Without having to adjust the aperture, the Hoya Variable Density II filter gives you the freedom to set the shutter speed to your liking. This creates beautiful motion blur effects in waterfalls or moving cars, for example.

Wider aperture

The Hoya Variable Density II allows for a wider aperture in overexposed situations to reduce the depth of field and draw more attention to your subject.

No overexposure

Even at a shutter speed of 1/8000 seconds, an f/1.4 or f/1.2 aperture can result in overexposure. You can prevent this by using the Hoya gray filter and adjusting the light intake.

Advantages of a variable neutral density filter

The filter can lower shutter speeds when you reach the limits of your camera's adjustable shutter speed. In addition, the Hoya Variable Density II increases the bokeh effect in situations with too much light and thus prevents overexposure.
