GoPro Point and Shoot Grip - MISSION 1 SERIES

Q: How does the Point and Shoot Grip improve handling?

The grip changes how the camera is held by shifting the weight into a more stable side-hold position, similar to that of a compact stills camera. Instead of pinching the camera body directly, your hand wraps around the grip, with your index finger naturally resting on the top trigger. This makes longer handheld shooting sessions steadier and more comfortable, especially for walking shots or street filming.

Q: Can I still use other mounting options with the grip attached?

Yes. The frame keeps access open to the camera’s folding mounting fingers and magnetic latch system, so you can still quickly swap between handheld use and mounted setups. The frame also includes a 1/4"-20 thread and cold shoe mounts, giving you several ways to attach accessories or support gear without removing the camera.

Q: What accessories can be attached to the cold shoe mounts?

The cold shoe mounts support compact accessories such as microphones, wireless receivers, or small LED lights. Positioning the shoe mounts directly on the frame and shutter assembly keeps accessories close to the camera body, helping maintain balance during handheld shooting rather than creating a top-heavy rig.

Q: Can the frame be used without the grip attached?

Yes. The side grip and shutter mechanism can both be removed, leaving the metal frame as a standalone protective cage. The grip system relies on the frame’s top locking panel remaining attached, as this section supports the shutter mechanism and completes the structure. This gives the camera a slimmer profile while still retaining access to mounting points and attachment options for rigs or tripod setups.
