Question 1

Is the GoPro MAX2 compatible with optional accessories?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the MAX2 works with a wide range of GoPro mounts and accessories thanks to its built-in mounting fingers and 1/4-20 threads. This means you can use tripods, extension poles, ball joints and other standard gear without issue. With the MAX2’s invisible mounting feature, extension poles disappear entirely from your footage, creating the illusion that a drone or a second camera operator is capturing your shots. GoPro has also introduced a separately available Magnetic Latch Mount for faster setup changes, making it easy to switch between different accessories while shooting.

Question 2

What can the GoPro Quik App be used for?

Accepted Answer

The GoPro Quik app is designed to make working with MAX2 content straightforward and creative. It allows you to reframe 360 video into traditional 4K clips, crop or zoom high-resolution photos, and apply effects such as Spin, Tiny Planet or MotionFrame transitions. You can also track subjects, adjust stabilisation and Horizon Lock after recording, then quickly save or share your edits across platforms.

Question 3

Can I use the GoPro MAX2 as a standard action camera?

Accepted Answer

The GoPro MAX2 can operate just like a traditional GoPro by switching to Single Lens mode. In this setting, it records up to 4K60 video with access to digital lenses such as Linear, Wide, Ultra Wide and Max HyperView, giving you control over the field of view. Combined with Max HyperSmooth stabilisation and waterproofing to 5m, it performs exceptionally well as a dedicated action camera when 360 capture is not required.

Question 4

How do I power the GoPro MAX2?

Accepted Answer

The MAX2 is powered by a 1960mAh 7.63Wh Enduro battery with a nominal voltage of 3.89V, delivering consistent performance even in colder environments. Charging is recommended at 5V/3A via USB-C for optimal speed and reliability. At just 32.2 g, the battery is compact yet designed to keep up with extended recording sessions.

Question 5

Is the GoPro MAX2 compatible with memory cards?

Accepted Answer

The GoPro MAX2 requires a microSD card with a V30 and A2 speed class rating or higher to handle high-bitrate 8K 360 recording. Cards up to 1TB are supported, giving you plenty of storage for extended shoots. Choosing the right card ensures stable performance, particularly when recording at higher frame rates.
