Question 1

Does the GlareOne Botis 600 support TTL and High-Speed Sync?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Botis 600 supports both TTL metering and High-Speed Sync up to 1/8000s. This allows you to work quickly in changing light or balance flash with bright ambient conditions outdoors. TTL can be overridden manually when more control is needed.

Question 2

How effective is the Freeze mode in real use?

Accepted Answer

Freeze mode provides flash durations from 1/1000s down to 1/27,000s (t0.5), which is short enough to stop most fast motion. It is beneficial for action, dance or creative splash photography. The ability to see flash duration on the display helps you choose the correct power level for sharp results.

Question 3

Can the Botis 600 be used with third-party modifiers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The GlareOne Botis 600’s Bowens mount supports a wide range of modifiers from GlareOne and other manufacturers. Softboxes, reflectors, beauty dishes and snoots fit without adapters, making it easy to use existing light-shaping gear.

Question 4

Is the LED modelling light suitable for video?

Accepted Answer

The built-in 40W Bi-Colour LED modelling lamp is useful for previewing light placement and for simple hybrid photo and video work. It offers a 2700K to 6500K range, making it flexible for mixed lighting conditions. While not a replacement for dedicated video lights, it works well for close-range or accent use.

Question 5

How portable is the Botis 600 for location work?

Accepted Answer

With a compact body and battery, the Botis 600 travels well for location shoots. The light alone weighs 2295g, and with the battery attached, it weighs 2780g. The included carrying case protects the head and accessories, and the weight remains manageable even when paired with larger modifiers. This makes it practical for photographers who move frequently between setups during a shoot.

Question 6

What accessories come with the GlareOne Botis 600?

Accepted Answer

The Botis 600 is supplied with a reflector, a set of colour filters, and a grid, giving you immediate control over beam spread and colour. The reflector provides a punchy, efficient light for general use, while the grid helps narrow the beam for more controlled or dramatic lighting. A dedicated carrying case is included, making it easier to transport and protect the light and accessories.
