Question 1

How does the Fujifilm X half's 1-inch sensor compare to APS-C sensors?

Accepted Answer

The Fujifilm X half features a 1-inch back-illuminated CMOS sensor measuring 13.3 x 8.8mm. This sensor is smaller than the APS-C sensors found in models like the Fujifilm X-T5 and Fujifilm X-S20, which measure approximately 23.5 x 15.6mm. While the 1-inch sensor allows for a more compact camera design and faster readout speeds, APS-C sensors typically offer better low-light performance and greater depth-of-field control. For a detailed comparison of sensor sizes, refer to Wex Photo Video's Photography Jargon Buster: An A-Z of Photographic Terms.

Question 2

Does the Fujifilm X half support RAW or HEIF image formats?

Accepted Answer

No, the Fujifilm X half records images exclusively in JPEG format. It does not support RAW or HEIF file formats. This design choice simplifies the shooting process and reduces file sizes, making it suitable for users who prefer immediate image sharing without post-processing. For more information on the differences between RAW and JPEG formats, see Wex Photo Video's article: Raw vs JPEG: which should you be using?

Question 3

What types of memory cards are compatible with the Fujifilm X half?

Accepted Answer

The Fujifilm X half is compatible with SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards, supporting capacities up to 2TB. It utilises the UHS-I bus interface for data transfer. For suitable memory cards, visit Wex Photo Video's Memory Cards page.

Question 4

Which Instax printers are compatible with the Fujifilm X half App?

Accepted Answer

The Fujifilm X half App connects via Bluetooth to several Instax printers, allowing users to print images directly from the camera. Compatible models include:

- Fujifilm Instax Link Mini 2 Printer

- Fujifilm Instax Mini Link 3 Printer

- Fujifilm Instax Square Link Instant Printer

- Fujifilm Instax Link Wide Instant Printer

These printers offer various print sizes and features, catering to different user preferences.

Question 5

What Film Simulations does the Fujifilm X half include?

Accepted Answer

The Fujifilm X half includes 13 Film Simulations, such as Velvia, Classic Chrome, and the newly introduced REALA ACE. However, it omits some simulations available in higher-end models like the X-T5, including PRO Neg. Std, PRO Neg. Hi, ETERNA Bleach Bypass, and Monochrome R/G/Ye. For a comprehensive overview of Fujifilm's Film Simulations, refer to Wex Photo Video's article: Why Photographers Love the Fujifilm X100 Series, which discusses the appeal of these simulations in Fujifilm's camera lineup.

Question 6

What battery does the Fujifilm X half use, and how long does it last?

Accepted Answer

The Fujifilm X half uses the NP-W126S lithium-ion battery, the same model used in cameras like the X-T30 II and X-S20. When shooting with the optical viewfinder, it delivers up to 880 still images per charge. Battery life may vary with LCD use, video recording, and Bluetooth activity. Charging is via USB-C, and spare NP-W126S units are widely available.
