Question 1

Does the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 feature gesture controls?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Osmo Pocket 4 includes gesture control for hands-free operation. When enabled, you can use a palm gesture to start or stop ActiveTrack, or a V gesture to take a photo or begin recording. Gestures need to be performed within approximately 2 metres of the camera and within clear view of the lens for reliable recognition.

Question 2

How good is the battery life on the DJI Osmo Pocket 4?

Accepted Answer

Battery performance depends on recording settings and usage, particularly when shooting high-resolution video or using wireless features. Under standard conditions, the Osmo Pocket 4 provides up to 240 minutes of operating time when recording at 1080p in 16:9. Charging reaches approximately 80% in 18 minutes and 100% in 32 minutes, with LED indicators showing progress at each stage.

Question 3

What is the gimbal’s mechanical range for pan and tilt?

Accepted Answer

The gimbal provides a controllable range of -235° to 58° for pan, -120° to 70° for tilt, and -45° to 45° for roll, defining the limits within which movement can be actively adjusted during shooting. The full mechanical range extends beyond this, spanning -240° to 63° for pan, -180° to 98° for tilt, and -220° to 63° for roll.

Question 4

Does the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 have creative presets or filters?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Osmo Pocket 4 includes a set of in-camera and app-based tools for adjusting image style and portrait rendering. Film Tone presets let you apply predefined colour profiles to recreate classic or stylised looks directly in-camera, without post-processing. In-camera Beautify controls allow adjustment of skin smoothness, brightness, and tone, helping to refine how subjects appear while maintaining a natural result. For further adjustment, Glamour Effects can be applied through the DJI Mimo app.

Question 5

How do I transfer files from the DJI Osmo Pocket 4?

Accepted Answer

Files can be transferred either wirelessly or via cable. When connected to the DJI Mimo app, you can preview and download footage directly to a mobile device, as well as share content to social platforms. For a wired transfer, connect the camera to a computer using a USB-C cable, then select “Transfer File: USB” on the camera. Files can then be copied directly to your computer. The camera cannot record while transferring files, and it is recommended to wait for a safe removal prompt before disconnecting.

Question 6

Can I expand the storage on the DJI Osmo Pocket 4?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Osmo Pocket 4 includes 107GB of built-in storage and also supports expansion via microSD cards. For consistent recording performance, DJI recommends U3 A2 V30-rated microSDXC cards, including Lexar Silver Plus models from 64GB to 1TB, and Kingston CANVAS GO! Plus models across the same capacity range. These cards provide the sustained write speeds required for high-resolution video recording.

Question 7

How do I update the firmware?

Accepted Answer

Firmware updates are handled through the DJI Mimo app. When a new version is available, a prompt will appear within the app, allowing you to start the update process directly. To update, connect the camera to the app via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, follow the on-screen instructions, and ensure the connection remains stable throughout. If an update fails, restarting both the camera and the app, then reconnecting, will usually resolve the issue.
