Question 1

Can the DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter record without a receiver?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The transmitter includes 14.5GB of usable internal storage and can operate independently as a voice recorder. It records up to 28 hours in 24-bit mode or 22 hours using 32-bit float. Recording can be started directly from the transmitter or configured to begin automatically when it powers on. Files can then be transferred using the supplied magnetic charging cable.

Question 2

How does 32-bit float recording work?

Accepted Answer

32-bit float recording is stored directly on the transmitter and provides greater latitude when recorded levels vary significantly. This allows high or low levels to be adjusted more freely in post-production than with the default 24-bit mode. The feature is disabled by default and can be enabled through the DJI Mimo app. Recording time changes from up to 28 hours at 24-bit to up to 22 hours in 32-bit float.

Question 3

Which devices and receivers can the transmitter connect to?

Accepted Answer

The transmitter supports OsmoAudio direct connection with compatible DJI devices and can connect to supported smartphones through Bluetooth. It can also pair with compatible Mic Mini and Mic Mini 2S receivers, or the DJI Mic Series Mobile Receiver. This allows the same transmitter to operate independently or as part of a wider wireless system. When paired with a smartphone, the DJI Mimo app provides access to settings including gain, noise cancelling, voice tone presets, low cut, and Adaptive Gain Control.

Question 4

How do I transfer internal recordings?

Accepted Answer

Connect the transmitter to a computer using the supplied DJI Mic Mini 2 Transmitter Magnetic Charging Cable. Internal recordings can then be transferred at up to 34MB/s. Files are stored in WAV format, and longer recordings are divided into 30-minute sections. Formatting should be carried out through DJI Mimo rather than through the computer.

Question 5

How long does the DJI Mic Mini 2S Transmitter operate between charges?

Accepted Answer

The transmitter provides up to 11 hours of operation on a full charge. A five-minute charge provides up to one hour of additional use, while a complete charge takes around 70 minutes. Automatic power-saving can reduce battery consumption when the transmitter is not connected to a receiver.
