Question 1

Can the DJI Mic Mini 2S record more than one person?

Accepted Answer

This kit includes one transmitter and one Mic Mini 2S Receiver for single-person recording. The receiver can connect to up to four compatible Mic Mini-series transmitters when additional units are added. Stereo mode separates connected microphones across left and right channels, while Mono combines them. Quadraphonic mode can provide four independent channels through compatible Sony cameras using the DJI Mic Series Camera Adapter, or through supported computer software over USB.

Question 2

What happens if the wireless connection is interrupted?

Accepted Answer

The transmitter contains 14.5GB of usable internal storage, allowing it to maintain its own recording alongside the wireless feed. It stores up to 28 hours in 24-bit mode or 22 hours in 32-bit float. If the receiver connection drops during automatic recording, the transmitter continues recording internally. Loop recording can replace the oldest files once storage becomes full, keeping the local recording active.

Question 3

How does 32-bit float internal recording work?

Accepted Answer

The transmitter records 32-bit float WAV files to its internal storage when the mode is enabled through the DJI Mimo app. The format retains a wider dynamic range than the default 24-bit mode, allowing high or low recorded levels to be adjusted with greater latitude in post-production. It does not remove the physical limits of the microphone capsule or prevent every form of distortion. Enabling 32-bit float reduces available recording time from 28 hours to 22 hours. The feature is disabled by default.

Question 4

Which devices are compatible with the DJI Mic Mini 2S?

Accepted Answer

The receiver supports compatible cameras, smartphones, tablets and computers through analogue and digital connections. The supplied USB-C adapter connects it directly to supported mobile devices, while the 3.5mm TRS cable provides an analogue camera connection. Compatible OsmoAudio products can connect directly to the transmitter without the receiver. Direct Bluetooth phone use supports one transmitter and depends on the phone and recording application.

Question 5

Can the DJI Mic Mini 2S Receiver connect to additional transmitters later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Mic Mini 2S Receiver supports up to four transmitters simultaneously and works with compatible Mic Mini 2S, Mic Mini 2 and Mic Mini transmitters. Additional transmitters can therefore be added when a recording requires more speakers. The receiver keeps the same 400m maximum transmission range with compatible Mic Mini-series transmitters. Four independent output channels require a supported Sony camera connection or compatible computer software over USB.

Question 6

How long do the transmitter and receiver operate between charges?

Accepted Answer

The transmitter provides up to 11 hours of operation, while the receiver provides up to 10 hours. Both support fast charging, with five minutes of charging providing up to one hour of additional use. A full charge takes around 70 minutes for either component. The supplied magnetic charging cable powers the transmitter directly, while the receiver charges over USB-C.
