Question 1

Is the DJI Lito X1 a suitable drone for beginners?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the DJI Lito X1 is a very approachable drone for newer pilots, mainly because it combines a compact body with flight aids that make everyday flying feel less tense. Omnidirectional obstacle sensing and the forward-facing LiDAR help the aircraft operate with more awareness in suitable conditions, while ActiveTrack makes it easier to produce steady-looking footage without constant manual corrections. The low 249g take-off weight also helps keep the whole package easy to carry and less intimidating to launch regularly. It still requires careful operation and awareness of local rules, but it is much more accessible to people of all abilities.

Question 2

What image quality does the DJI Lito X1 offer?

Accepted Answer

The DJI Lito X1 records standard video at up to 4K/60 fps HDR and supports slow-motion recording at up to 4K/100 fps. For stills, it can capture images at up to 8K 48 MP, which is useful when you want extra room for cropping or higher-resolution output. The 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor and f1.7 aperture also help it retain detail well in both bright daylight and low-light scenes. If you want more flexibility in grading, it also supports 10-bit D-Log M for smoother colour transitions in post production.

Question 3

How long can the DJI Lito X1 fly for?

Accepted Answer

With the standard DJI Lito X1 Intelligent Flight Battery, the maximum flight time is up to 36 minutes. That figure is measured in controlled conditions, so real-world results will vary with wind, temperature, speed, and how often you change direction or altitude during a flight.

Question 4

How do I operate the DJI Lito X1?

Accepted Answer

The DJI Lito X1 is compatible with both the DJI RC-N3 and DJI RC 2 controllers, but is only operable with the DJI Fly app. When using the included DJI RC-N3, you install the app on your phone and connect to it that way, whereas the compatible DJI RC 2 already has the app installed. The app is used for activation, setup, firmware prompts, and general control, so it is a required part of using the drone rather than an optional extra. Plus, simulator app support helps newer pilots practise controls before flying for real.

Question 5

Is the DJI Lito X1 waterproof?

Accepted Answer

No, the DJI Lito X1 is not waterproof. You should avoid contact with water during use, as it may damage the aircraft. If it starts raining during a flight, you should return and land as soon as possible. Before flying again, the drone should be fully dry inside and out. As with the sensing system more generally, good conditions matter here too, since the obstacle sensing works best on surfaces with discernible texture and in lighting conditions exceeding 5 lux.

Question 6

What is the difference between the DJI Lito 1 and the DJI Lito X1 aircraft?

Accepted Answer

The DJI Lito 1 is the more straightforward everyday aircraft option in the range, focusing on compact flying, 4K capture, 8K 48 MP stills, ActiveTrack, omnidirectional obstacle sensing, and a 249g folding body that is easy to carry and quick to launch. The DJI Lito X1 takes that same compact format and adds a more advanced 1/1.3-inch sensor, 10-bit D-Log M, and 42GB of internal storage. In practical use, the Lito 1 suits buyers who want a simple, capable aerial camera for everyday shooting, while the Lito X1 gives you more room for higher-end image quality, grading flexibility, and a more polished flying experience. Both are designed to stay accessible, but the X1 is the more premium model in the lineup.

Question 7

What do I need to know before flying a drone in the UK under the new regulations?

Accepted Answer

From 1 January 2026, new drones sold in the UK must carry a UK class mark (UK0-UK6), while existing EU C-class drones remain valid until 31 December 2027. Drones without a UK or EU class mark are treated as legacy models and follow weight-based rules. A Flyer ID is required for any drone weighing 100g or more, and an Operator ID is required for any drone 100g or more with a camera, or any drone 250g or more. Remote ID becomes mandatory from 2026 for most class-marked drones and from 2028 for almost all drones weighing 100g or more with a camera. Where you can fly depends on the drone’s class and weight, but all flights must stay below 120m, remain within visual line of sight, respect airspace restrictions, and follow UK CAA rules.
