Canon RF 5.2mm f2.8L Dual Fisheye Lens

Q: Do I still have to stitch together the footage in post-production?

Thanks to the dual lenses and Canon’s EOS VR Utility application, the files are automatically converted and stitched together. Additionally, this software allows you to easily process and export videos/images into different resolutions and codecs (up to 8K in file size). This optimises the final production for suitable VR headsets.

Q: Can this be used as a normal lens?

While you can use this lens on your Canon R mount camera, the resulting images would not resemble standard images and therefore would not highlight the scene you’re capturing. This lens is specifically designed for VR production.
