Calibrite ColorChecker White Balance

Q: Why should you not just use a white piece of paper?

For a more reliable and professional image, the Calibrite ColorChecker White Balance is a massive improvement on simply using a white piece of paper. This is because most objects are not actually neutral under all lighting conditions and are not reliable.

Q: Does this come with a protective sleeve?

The Calibrite ColorChecker White Balance does come with a protective sleeve, which is ideal for transporting between studios and locations.

Q: What is the best way to avoid damaging this product?

The most common way for these types of production tools to be damaged is through fingerprints and greasy hands when used on set. To avoid this, you can apply two small tabs of tape on the two opposing sides for assistants and talent to hold the card.

Q: Can you use this outside for on-location shoots?

The Calibrite ColorChecker White Balance can be used outside, ideally held by the talent or model for the first shot to correct any exposure or colour issues. However, it has not been modified in any way and is not suited to use in inclement weather.

Q: What does ‘Spectrally neutral’ mean?

Spectral neutrality refers to how this colour tool can reflect equal amounts of red, blue, and green.
