Blackmagic Camera ProDock

Q: Which iPhone models are supported by the Blackmagic Camera ProDock?

The ProDock works with iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max. All major features are supported across this range. Genlock input is the one exception, as it is only supported by iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models.

Q: Can the Blackmagic Camera ProDock record directly to external drives?

Yes. The two USB 3.2 ports allow recording to high-capacity external SSDs, providing longer recording times and faster transfer speeds. This is particularly useful when working with higher-bitrate formats in the Blackmagic Camera app.

Q: Does the ProDock provide power to the iPhone and accessories?

The dock includes a locking 12V DC input that powers the iPhone, the ProDock itself, and connected USB-C accessories. Each USB-C port supplies up to 7.5W output, ensuring reliable power distribution across storage devices and control accessories.

Q: How does the ProDock handle audio input and monitoring?

The dock features a 3.5mm stereo input for connecting external microphones, including wireless systems, and a 3.5mm headphone output for monitoring audio on set. These connections provide higher quality and more flexible sound management than the iPhone’s built-in options.

Q: Is DaVinci Resolve included with the ProDock?

A free version of DaVinci Resolve is available for download via Blackmagic Cloud integration. This allows you to sync media captured on your iPhone directly into Resolve projects for editing. The Studio version, offering additional features and AI tools, is available as an upgrade.
