Atomos Ninja TX

Q: Can I use the Atomos Ninja TX for live streaming over a network?

The Ninja TX includes NDI 6 HX3 transmission and reception as standard, allowing you to stream or monitor video over IP networks using standard Wi-Fi or Ethernet infrastructure. This feature makes it suitable for live production environments and remote monitoring setups, eliminating the need for external transmitters or receivers.

Q: Does the Ninja TX require additional activation for codecs or features?

No. All supported codecs, including Apple ProRes RAW, DNx, H.265, H.264, and NDI, are preloaded and active at purchase. Firmware updates are applied wirelessly via OTA (over-the-air) with AtomOS Linux, eliminating the need for SD card updates or extra licences.

Q: Can I record directly to USB-C SSDs?

The Ninja TX includes dual USB-C ports, which support direct recording to qualified USB-C SSDs. This offers a flexible alternative to CFexpress Type B cards and is also helpful for fast offloading or direct editing from external drives.

Q: Is the Ninja TX compatible with older Atomos accessories, such as AtomX modules?

No. The Ninja TX does not have an AtomX expansion slot. This was a deliberate design choice to keep the unit compact and lightweight. However, its USB-C ports offer a flexible path for future expansion, including storage, calibration tools, and potentially audio or networking devices.

Q: What are the power options for the Atomos Ninja TX?

The Ninja TX can be powered using standard NP-F style batteries, via USB-C Power Delivery (PD), or through a DC battery eliminator (6.2V–16.8V). This ensures broad compatibility with power banks, wall adapters, and D-Tap solutions for both field and studio use.
